A Different Kind of Reset

Turning 50 has made me think about my health differently.
I want the energy to travel, spend time with my family and friends, stay active, and keep doing the things I enjoy for as long as I can. Lately, though, I've been feeling more tired than I would like and haven't had the motivation I used to. I've been walking more, jumping rope, stretching, and paying closer attention to what I eat, but I also felt ready to explore something new.
That's what eventually led me to Marissa Lord, a certified health coach and founder of https://www.goodlordwellness.com/
I first heard about Marissa through a friend on social media about three years ago. I started following her because her approach to health and wellness connected with an interest I've had for a long time. Earlier in my career, I worked at a food allergy laboratory, which introduced me to different perspectives on nutrition, holistic health, and naturopathic medicine. It left me curious about how our everyday choices can affect the way we feel.
After following Marissa for a few years, I decided it was finally time to work with her myself.
Starting With Phase One
The program I'm following has two parts: a phase Marissa calls "drainage," followed by what she describes as a parasite purge.
I'm currently in Phase One. As Marissa explained it to me, this stage focuses on supporting the body's natural elimination processes before moving into the next part of her program. I'm using the CellCore Jumpstart Kit according to the program instructions and incorporating it into my morning and evening routine.
I'm still at the beginning, so I don't have results to share yet. And that's important to say. I'm not writing about this because I know how the story ends or because I think everyone should try what I'm doing. I'm sharing it because I'm curious about the experience and want to document what actually happens rather than make promises about what might happen.
Paying Attention Again
So far, the biggest change may simply be that I'm paying more attention.
I'm thinking about what I'm eating, how much I'm moving, what I'm putting into my body, and the habits I've allowed to become part of my routine. I've spent years learning about health and wellness, but that doesn't mean I've always made my own health the priority it should have been.
Life gets busy. Work, family, responsibilities, and everything else can easily come first. At 50, I want to change that.
Having Marissa guide me through the process has also given me someone to ask questions and share concerns with. This particular approach is new to me, and I'm approaching it with curiosity rather than assuming I already know the outcome.
What Comes Next
The next step will be Phase Two, the parasite purge.
I'll admit I'm curious and a little nervous about it. I've never done anything like this before, and I don't know exactly what to expect.
When I get there, I'll share what I actually experienced: the good, the difficult, what I learned, and ultimately how I felt about it.
That's what I want Only One Life to be.
Not a place where I pretend to have all the answers, but a place where I can share what I've learned while continuing to try new things, ask questions, and learn more about myself along the way.
For me, taking care of my health isn't about chasing perfection. It's about giving myself the best opportunity to keep enjoying the life I already have: the people I love, the places I still want to see, and the experiences that are still ahead. I don't know yet where this particular journey will take me. But deciding to make my health a priority feels like a good place to start.
That's why health and wellness continue to have an important place in my life. And that's why I'm sharing this journey here at Only One Life.

Very inspiring, thanks for sharing!
